If Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant did not become an NBA player, he's probably in the NFL now playing as a wide receiver.
When asked on the Out of Office podcast what other pro sport he could play, Durant did not hesitate saying football. While his length and built make him an ideal hooper, the Nets forward believes he has the physical tools to become an effective wideout comparable to other NFL receivers today.
“I could play football. I can be a wideout at least. There's wideouts that's 6 feet, 170 [pounds]. … All go routes,” Durant explained, per Bleacher Report.

Now this is an interesting take from Kevin Durant, and one that is sure to get a lot of reactions from players and fans alike. After all, while both basketball and NFL are contact sports, there is a LOT more physicality in football. KD would probably need a different mentality if he's in the NFL.
Also, it is worth mentioning that the Nets superstar once trolled Jimmy Butler for thinking he could be an NFL receiver. The Golden State Warriors scorer at the time poked fun at Butler, calling him an “idiot‘ for his remarks. It will be interesting to see how Jimmy Buckets will respond to KD seemingly imitating him.
Then again, we are all lucky to have Durant in the NBA playing basketball. His elite scoring is just beautiful to watch, and it's hard to imagine him catching the football instead of banking heartbreaking daggers.
