Brooklyn Nets center DeAndre Jordan says he talked to Kevin Durant a lot during the summer of 2015 after the whole Dallas Mavericks-Los Angeles Clippers free agency saga.

Jordan says Durant was an outlet for him and that he will always appreciate KD for that.

“He was an outlet for me,” Jordan told Bleacher Report. “He's like, ‘Man, f–k that. Do you know them?' I'm like, ‘No.' He's like, ‘Well then, whatever. Go out there and hoop.'

“That just shows me how much he cared about me as a person. I always feel like I owe him for that.”

Jordan and Durant have known each other since they were teenagers. They are now teammates on the Nets along with their third pal, Kyrie Irving.

The Nets are 16-13 on the season, good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. Irving is currently out with a shoulder injury, while Durant is expected to miss the entire season recovering from his Achilles tear.

In 26 games this season for the Nets, Jordan is averaging 8.2 points and 10.0 rebounds. He’s shooting 65.4 percent from the field and 66.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The Nets will be title contenders next season once Durant suits up next to Irving and Jordan.
