Nets head coach Steve Nash also noted that they already had an idea about Durant missing more time:

Unfortunately, it sounds like KD's return is not imminent. He is set to have another set of tests next week. Nash also stated in his statement that regardless of the results of the scan, the team will have their star undergo “appropriate ramp up” before he is cleared for action. As it is, Durant is without a timetable and it doesn't sound like he's close to making a comeback.

It's not as if the Nets have missed Durant's services. They've won eight out of their last nine games sans KD, which includes key victories against the Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the defending champs, the Los Angeles Lakers. Kyrie Irving and James Harden have been on a tear for Brooklyn, and they have deputized well in the absence of Durant.

Once you take all this into consideration, it would be safe to assume that the Nets will take as much time as they need/want in terms of KD's return to action. Brooklyn has earned a reputation of being extremely cautious with the injuries of their players, and with their team doing so well right now, there's no way they're going to rush Durant back to action.
