The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly quietly confident they could convince Anthony Davis to re-sign with them if they would be able to acquire the superstar big man, according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post.
Anthony Davis has requested a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans. The All-Star power forward can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020.
Teams other than the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers who are looking to trade for Davis are risking losing assets for a rental player since AD can leave in 2020.
However, it looks like Brooklyn's brass — led by general manager Sean Marks — is upbeat on their odds to retain Davis.
