With DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine leading the way, the Chicago Bulls are looking primed for a spectacular season.

When DeMar DeRozan joined the Bulls this offseason, many were not convinced that he could make a huge impact in the famed franchise. Atop that, some also doubted that he and Zach LaVine will have good chemistry as co-stars. However, the pair proved that none of it is true.

In fact, during “a short huddle” in the Bulls' 113-105 win over the Indiana Pacers, assistant coach Chris Fleming revealed that DeRozan shockingly told him to let LaVine do his thing and he will just “play off him.”

“We had a short huddle with DeMar and Zach (in the 4th) as we were going out and DeMar said ‘listen, stay with Zach. I'll play off him.' Those guys are pretty selfless – both of them are willing to sacrifice for the other,” via Bulls' Twitter account.

The Bulls are now the second best team in the East. While many are still surprised by how the DeRozan-LaVine duo works its magic, DeRozan insists that it was something that's already been addressed when he joined Chicago.

“A commitment that we talked about long before we even played on a court was just having each other’s back and being there for one another. That’s all I needed to hear. That’s all he needed to hear from me,” DeRozan said of his offseason considerations to join the Bulls earlier this month via NBC Sports. “As long as we could walk, we’re going to be out there and try to lead this team to be as successful as we can.

“When I see him do those things, it’s not surprising to me. It’s something I saw in his eyes when we first had conversations about how I could help this team.”
