If anyone even thought to entertain the cartoonish idea of LaVar Ball taking on Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one basketball, here's a thought to put that to rest.

Unlike his son Lonzo, LaVar only averaged 2.2 points per game in his short-lived career at Washington State, scoring a total of 56 career points, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Jordan has actually scored 56 or more points a total of eight different times during his NBA career — a feat that stands atop a tall mountain, even with today's high-scoring NBA games.

LaVar Ball has been making every possible claim in order to draw attention first to his son, then his family-made brand, and now himself in efforts to stay relevant in a long offseason.

No matter how obnoxious or preposterous the claim is, Mr. Ball will find a way to spin it in his favor, recently offering that any comparisons between him and Jordan “shouldn't be taken seriously” and are “just for entertainment.”

The only thing that this discussion has managed to entertain thus far is just how deluded and self-absorbed a man can be, boasting a false sense of bravado without an ounce of true skill to back it up.

Jordan on the other hand, has had the endless list of his own accolades do all the talking.
