Rajon Rondo responded to claims of him attempting to trip Boston Celtics forward Jae Crowder as he ran back on defense during the Chicago Bulls 104-87 Game 3 loss on Friday night.

Rondo had been ruled out indefinitely Friday morning with a fractured right thumb, which will keep him out for at least a couple of weeks. The Bulls started Jerian Grant at point guard in his absence.
The injured guard used the only excuse available in his book to justify a rather silly action.

“When you tear an ACL, your leg gets stiff on you once in a while,” Rondo told Steve Aschburner of NBA.com during a post-game press conference. “I stretched my leg out. I always do that throughout the game. I guess he was so deep into our bench, you know, it might look like whatever may have happened.”

The league will surely take a look at this, even though Crowder wasn't actually tripped. Intention counts and it might be a lesson he will have to learn through his pocket.
