One of the team owners blasted the quality of officiating and made his disgust known publicly. Surprisingly, it wasn't Steve Ballmer but Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

The outspoken billionaire called out Mauer and questioned why a violation that obvious wasn't spotted by a veteran referee.

“That call? At the beginning of the game? Right in front of him? That wasn’t an error in judgment.”

“Refs are going to miss things because there’s other things going on, but there was nothing else going on. It was the first or second play of the game, and he was standing right there.”

“This wasn’t just a missed call. This was something else… I don’t know what it was. Sometimes it’s the problem; sometimes it’s the symptom of a problem. I think this is more reflective of a symptom of a problem.”

Cuban also shared what he thinks should be the sanction for Mauer.

“Suspend him, demote him, make him ref a game in the D-League.”

The 58-year-old entrepreneur has been known to always speak his mind out. He also made his point clear when asked why he is reacting that way even if his team wasn't in the game.

“Because the quality of officiating matters in this game, you know? Standings are impacted. Mistakes happen. Lots of calls are hard, but not all of them. Some of them are just lack of focus and attention, and that’s the one thing you should be able to avoid at all times, particularly from such an experienced ref.”

A fine should be expected following his comments but given his history of sanctions from the league, Cuban will definitely not mind getting one more as long as he gets his point across.
