Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki might be biased, but he does have a point saying that Luka Doncic has the most potential among all young NBA players today.

Speaking to reporters recently, the Mavs legend highlighted why Doncic stands out among the plethora of young talented players in the league today. It's quite simple for Dirk: what the Slovenian is doing at age 22 is just unheard of.

“Luka is, for me, the guy that's on the top of the list because he's only 22 years old,” Nowitzki said when asked who has the most potential among all the young players in the NBA, per Reuters.

“He still has so much upside and stuff to learn. His creativity, the way he reads the game, the way he spreads the ball, the way he can score really from the post all the way out to half court, there are no holes in his game. That, at 22, is unbelievable.”

True enough, Luka Doncic took the league by storm ever since he was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks (and traded to the Mavs) in 2018. He has been named an All-Star twice and made it to the All-NBA First Team in the previous two seasons as well.

NBA GMs around the league have also voted him as the best young player to build around, edging Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo who just won a championship.

With that said, Dirk Nowitzki's assessment is not that controversial. Besides, the Mavs icon himself had seen what the youngster can do after they played for one season together in Luka's rookie year.

Call him biased or what, Dirk knows very well that the sky is the limit for the Slovenian wonderboy.
