Nowitzki scored 14 points for the Mavs.
Although Nowitzki didn't definitively said that he will retire after this season, all signs point to him deciding to call it quits. His role with the team has changed and his minutes significantly decreased. Still, he's one of the most successful players to ever play the game and undoubtedly the greatest player to ever play for the Mavs.
Article Continues BelowNowitzki is one of the players who revolutionized the game of basketball. He played and excelled in an era when most big men preferred to score in the painted area. Although Nowitzki is also a great back-to-the-basket player, he's also perfected an offensive arsenal that also made him a lethal shooter from beyond the arc.
Nowitzki has career averages of 1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, while shooting 47 percent from the field, and 38 percent from 3.
Although Nowitzki was only able to win one championship with the Mavs, it is considered by many as one of the greatest title wins in NBA history. In 2011, he led Dallas to a shocking victory over the heavily favored Miami Heat, who were led by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.
If this is indeed Dirk Nowitzki's last season in the NBA, fans will still have a few months to watch him. Yes, the Mavericks will most likely miss the playoffs, but what matters is that people get to see his swan song.
