An Eastern Conference executive expects the Dallas Mavericks to be active in trade talks before the February trade deadline, according to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report. The Mavs are expected to be without superstar Luka Doncic for some time with an ankle injury, so the franchise could be looking to add another dynamic player.
Could that player be Andre Iguodala? It's possible. The Mavs are said to have interest in trading for the 2014 Finals MVP, who is on the Memphis Grizzlies, but hasn't played a single game all season:
The obvious choice could be the Dallas Mavericks (17-8). Luka Doncic has turned them into one of the best teams in the West (although he’ll be sidelined for some time with an ankle injury). Using Courtney Lee as salary ballast along with either draft considerations or one or two of the Mavericks' younger players might entice Memphis.
“Look for Dallas to be active before the trade deadline,” an Eastern Conference executive said.
Iguodala is owed $17.2 million this season, the final year of his contract.

The 35-year-old swingman put up 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the 2019 playoffs.
The Mavs have the third-best record in the West. However, to stay there while Doncic is out, they need someone to help Kristaps Porzingis on offense.
Iguodala or Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love fit that bill, although Iguodala is a more realistic option for the Mavs.
