Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic had a hilarious reaction when asked whether he gets “star” calls from referees in FIBA qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics.
Doncic is playing for the Slovenian national team in the FIBA qualifying tournament for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. However, the Mavs star joked he isn't getting any special treatment because he doesn't get that kind of treatment from NBA officials:
“I don't really get calls in the NBA, I don't think,” Doncic mused, via Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

He actually averaged fewer free-throw attempts per game this season (7.1) than last (9.2), but it's evident the NBA is implementing the new rules because various stars throughout the league are manipulating whistles.
The 22-year-old is currently focused on getting the Slovenian national team to Tokyo, but the focus will eventually shift back to his future in Dallas.
The Mavericks have already undergone substantial changes this offseason, bringing on Jason Kidd as the new head coach and hiring Nico Harrison to be the general manager. Next steps are likely to include either trying to trade Kristaps Porzingis or trying to mend his relationship with Doncic.
Despite all the turmoil, Doncic seems just as jovial as ever.
