Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA despite being only a second-year pro. Like Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, the Mavs’ floor general has become must-see television with his crafty play.

“I hope so,” he said. “I’m not going to be the one dunking, that’s for sure.”
That’s in deference to his ankle, obviously.
“You try not to worry about it, but you’re going to worry about,” Doncic said of his ankle. “It’s tough, especially the first couple games. You think about it. You don’t want to go through it again. But I try not to think about it.
“I’ve sprained my ankle before, but not like two times in a row in that little time. That never happened before.”
Doncic has taken the NBA world by storm, similar to how James did when he was a youngster with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The reigning Rookie of the Year said last season he was surprised how well he played during his rookie campaign with the Mavs. Now, Doncic is an MVP candidate and the new face of the Mavs in the post-Dirk Nowitzki era.
Doncic has appeared in 43 games for the Mavs this season and been nothing short of magnificent pretty much every night. He is averaging 28.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.7 assists while shooting 46.4 percent from the field, 32.1 percent from beyond the arc and 76.3 percent from the free-throw line.
