The Dallas Mavericks have already had a busy offseason just weeks after getting eliminated from the NBA playoffs. They parted ways with Rick Carlisle, who went to the Indiana Pacers. The Mavs recently hired Jason Kidd to be their next head coach in a rather unsurprising move by Mark Cuban and company. It’s expected Mosley will depart the franchise, sources say, after failing to receive the serious consideration he anticipated for the vacant coaching role.”
The hiring of Kidd will likely bring the end of Mosley's tenure with the organization. Doncic had advocated for Mosley, and after Carlisle departed, he was widely seen as one of the favorites for the job. Nonetheless, they went with Kidd, and it might leave a bitter taste in the mouth of Luka Doncic.
Donnie Nelson also saw his way out from Dallas, and the Mavs front office will look vastly different once free agency rolls around. With the new regime in place, the pressure is now more than ever to put a winning product around Luka Doncic, especially after upsetting one of his favorite assistant coaches.
