Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic almost got his head clobbered by an automated rail camera during the Mavs' recent scrimmage game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday. Doncic himself came across the clip on social media. The Slovenian national could not help but compare himself to Neo of “The Matrix” as he impressively dodged the camera.

Doncic reacted with a Neo GIF via Twitter:

Doncic hit the nail on the head (pun intended) with his analogy here, as he did come extremely close to getting taken out. That would have potentially caused a relatively serious head injury for Doncic, and not to mention the cost to repair the damage on the camera. We're just glad that Doncic was able to exhibit his Neo-like reflexes on this instance, thereby avoiding what could have been a disastrous accident.

Luka Doncic logged a healthy 26 minutes against the Sixers on Tuesday. He produced 23 points (on 9-of-16 from the floor), one triple, seven rebounds, and six assists. He helped the Mavs emerge with a 118-115 overtime victory against Philadelphia in what was the final scrimmage game prior to the official restart on Thursday.

Doncic and company will be back in action on Friday, as they take on co-division rivals in the Houston Rockets. That should be a gripping battle, with both teams jostling for positioning in the Western Conference playoffs picture. The Rockets are currently ranked sixth overall, with the Mavs hot on their tails at seventh. Currently, Dallas is just a game and a half behind Houston.  A win for the Mavs on Friday will close the gap between these two postseason-bound sides.
