Even with the 2019-20 NBA regular season suspended due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) threat, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban continues to remain engaged with his squad. The 61-year-old billionaire recently shared that he reminded Mavs players to take the suspension seriously and stay indoors as much as possible.

“I told my players this is not a lockout or the end of season, you can't just go off and do whatever you want (ie vacation). It's the exact opposite, effectively you have to self-quarantine,” Cuban said.

Mark Cuban's cautious approach comes after Utah Jazz players Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchel tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the league to suspend all scheduled games until further notice.

Gobert has been taking flak online after a clip revealed that he has been mockingly touching all the mics in the media room prior to his diagnosis. Some of his Jazz teammates even privately said that Gobert had been careless in the locker room touching other players and their belongings.

Cuban, of course, wants to make sure that this incident will not happen again and ensure that all of his players will be safe from the contagious virus.

Aside from his players, Cuban also revealed that Mavs management is making sure the hourly workers under their employment will be compensated amid the league's work stoppage.

The Mavericks, meanwhile, are right at the thick of the playoff hunt right before the NBA's suspension of games. The Rick Carlisle-mentored team currently hold the seventh place in the Western Conference with a 40-27 slate.

They finished their last game on a high note with a 113-97 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
