Though the majority of the basketball-loving public has its eyes firmly set on the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors, teams that didn’t make the playoffs have already begun shifting pieces around the board and setting themselves up in free agency and the 2019 NBA Draft.
Just look at the Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks, who undertook a surprising trade earlier this week that allowed the Hawks to bolster their draft assets while providing the Nets with salary cap relief – opening the door for the possibility of bringing in two max-level free agents this summer.
