Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has been on a tear in their past few games before the All-Star break, and Mavs boss Mark Cuban believes he knows why.
Cuban shared how he sees Doncic as a street-smart athlete who has the common sense and awareness of what he needs to do. Basically, the Slovenian wonderboy spent some time figuring out what works best for him during his early season struggles–from his conditioning, diet to training–but everything is starting to click for him now.
Obviously, that is evident with the way he is playing in recent games with the Mavs.
“I think what people don’t realize about Luka, he is smart. You know, I’m not talking about Harvard-MBA-smart. I’m talking about street smart. I’m talking about common sense. I’m talking about dedication and effort. He knows what he needs to do and it finally clicked that if he’s going to be the best, and I know he wants to be the best that there’s certain things he has to control. And once he got a handle on those things, it’s just been Katy bar the door. He’s just been unstoppable,” Cuban said, per Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.
A lot has been said about Luka Doncic and his start to the season. While he's still putting up big numbers early this 2021-22, he was not as impactful as he was last campaign. Many blamed his poor conditioning for that, highlighted by the injuries he sustained.

Of course Luka appeared to have turned a corner on that end. Not only is he playing healthier than ever, but his impact has been felt massively by the Mavs as they continue to hold the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
The Mavs have won seven of their last 10 games, with Doncic averaging a near triple-double of 35.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 9.8 assists while shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 43.3 percent from three.
Doncic's resurgence certainly comes at a great time for Dallas as they look to build more momentum in a bid to pull away from the other playoff hunters and secure their spot for the automatic postseason qualifying spots.
Hopefully, as Mark Cuban puts it, he can continue being that “unstoppable.”
