Cleveland is a city with a large number of Slovenian nationals, so it is obvious why Doncic received a lot of cheers from his countrymen.
Doncic was drafted third overall by the Atlanta Hawks this year but was later traded to the Mavs for Trae Young and future picks.
Since arriving in the league, Doncic has surprised a lot of people with his stellar play. He immediately won the Mavs franchise over, and they now see the 19-year-old rookie as the face of their franchise.
Doncic was so popular that millions of fans voted for him to make the All-Star team, and although he didn't make it, it is clear that the Mavs have a bright future with him leading the way.
The leading Rookie of the Year candidate is posting season averages of 20.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. As of this writing, Doncic is currently dominating the Cleveland Cavaliers with 28 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
There is no stopping the Doncic train from rolling, and with the Mavs' recent acquisition of Kristaps Porzingis, the future is bright for Dallas and its fans have a lot of reasons to be excited about the franchise's future.
