It's safe to assume Mark Cuban would fare a bit better playing casual organized sports than many of his ownership peers in the NBA. The Dallas Mavericks owner, remember, is still just 60 years old despite nearly two decades in the basketball world, and due to his celebrity status keeps himself in relatively good physical condition.

Still, that hardly means it wasn't somewhat surprising to watch Cuban rip line drive after line drive while taking batting practice on Thursday in preparation for Dirk Nowitzki's upcoming annual charity baseball game.

Not bad!

Cuban wasn't the only Mavericks employee in attendance on Thursday. Nowitzki, of course, took part in practice before Friday's main event, as did former Dallas teammates like big man Dwight Powell, veteran guard Devin Harris, and rookie Jalen Brunson. Multiple Dallas Cowboys players will also participate in the 2019 Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game, including quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott, and left tackle Tyron Smith.

“It’s humbling that guys make room in their schedules — I know how it is,” Nowitzki told Mavs.com's Dwain Price. “As celebrities we have tons of hours on our schedule all the time, and you get yanked in a different direction at all times.

“For those guys to make time and make that game a priority and show up every year, it’s very humbling,” he continued. “But I think it’s also because the event is so much fun (and why) a lot of fans come out and support it every year.”

This marks the eighth straight year Nowitkzi has hosted the event, which takes place on Friday night at Dr. Pepper Ball Park.
