The 2018 NBA All-Star game is coming on Feb. 18, and it’s bound to be an interesting one. For one, for the first time in the game’s history, players will not be divided according to their conferences affiliation, but rather through a draft-style format to be governed by assigned team captains.
Before that happens, however, fans will be tasked to name just who among the league’s massive pool of players will be included in the All-Star Game. Fans votes will determine who will be the event’s starters.
Fans can place their votes on NBA.com or through the NBA phone application. Normally, one entry is equal to one vote, but the NBA decided to add a twist in this year’s voting process. According to Alex Kennedy of USA TODAY Sports, a vote will be counted twice on Dec. 31 and on the following select dates.

This is the first of five "double days" that the NBA introduced this year. Votes will also count for double on Jan. 4, Jan. 11, Jan. 12 and Jan. 15. pic.twitter.com/8wM2OxVH4s

The trick here is for every voter to know when these “double-vote” days are, so they could maximize their suffrage privileges. That means if all of China would vote for Houston Rockets center Zhou Qi Sunday, he would instantly get a total of 2.6 billion votes.
Fans are also given 10 chances to vote on Facebook and Twitter by using the #NBAVote hashtag. Note that only one player can be placed per tweet and per Facebook post.
