Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone believes starting shooting guard Gary Harris and power forward Paul Millsap will be out for weeks instead of months.

Gary Harris is dealing with a nagging hip injury, while Paul Millsap suffered a broken toe last Friday against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Nuggets are 17-9 on the season and Gary Harris and Paul Millsap have been playing at a high level for the team.

In 25 games, Millsap is averaging 13.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 49.6 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from beyond the arc and 72.7 percent from the free-throw line. The injury bug just won't leave Millsap alone. The four-time All-Star only played in 38 games last season after undergoing surgery on his left wrist in November.

Millsap signed a three-year, $90 million free agent deal with the Nuggets in the summer of 2017 after spending the previous four seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.

Harris, meanwhile, is averaging 16.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in 21 starts and shooting 43.9 percent from the floor, 32.4 percent from beyond the 3-point line and 79.1 percent from the charity stripe. Harris will be evaluated week by week going forward.

To compensate for the injuries, the Nuggets signed veteran shooting guard Nick Young on Monday.
