The Denver Nuggets have been one of the most surprising teams in the league. After failing to make the postseason last year, the Nuggets are now on the verge of making the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Much of their success is owed to Nikola Jokic, who has been the Nuggets' best player.

Jokic is an astonishing all-around center who can score, distribute, and rebound the ball effectively. Currently, The Joker is averaging 17.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. He is also shooting 49 percent from the field and 38 percent from the 3-point line.

Jokic is perhaps known best for his ability to notch triple-doubles. In his position, triple doubles are rare, but Jokic has so far grabbed more than seven triple-doubles this season. He is the first center with this accomplishment since Wilt Chamberlain.

Jokic has been the center of the Nuggets' offense this season. Often, the Serbian big man runs the plays for Denver and head coach Mike Malone believes that Jokic is their team, according to Gina Mizell of the Denver Post.

“He’s such a humble guy, that sometimes he looks for me to do things,” Millsap, a four-time all-star, said of Jokic. “And it’s him. He’s our team. He makes a lot of things go for us. He’s got to continue to stay aggressive, and I’m here to help him and back him in any way possible.” “Nikola is our guy and he has to be the focal point,” Malone said. “And from that focal point, everybody else gets theirs.”

Jokic is in good company alongside Wilt Chamberlain. Though, his amazing season won't amount to much of anything if the Nuggets don't make the playoffs this year.
