The Detroit Pistons and Jerami Grant are expected to part ways this offseason, but now it seems as if the forward may not play another game in a Pistons uniform. After sitting out Sunday's game due to an injury, the Pistons dropped a brutal bombshell report on Grant. According to Marc Stein, Grant has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the season as a result of a calf strain.

Grant's season is set to end early as a result of his injury, which will see him miss Detroit's final seven regular-season games, including matchups against the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers (twice), Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Injuries limited Grant to just 47 games during the 2021-22 season. He missed a long spell of games in December-January while dealing with torn ligaments in his thumb. After making his return to the court in February, Grant featured in 23 games before the Pistons announced his season would be shut down early.

On the year, Grant has provided averages of 19.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. He's shooting 42.6% from the field and knocking down the 3 at a 35.8% clip.

With the season-ending injury, there's a real possibility that Grant's tenure with the Pistons is set to come to an end. He's been linked to various teams in trade, with the Portland Trail Blazers expressing serious interest in an offseason trade for the 28-year-old in their attempts to rebuild the roster around Damian Lillard.
