With a lot of stars from the Eastern Conference moving to the West, many believe that this season will be one of the widest open races for a playoff spot in recent memory. Almost all teams have a strong chance of making the postseason, including the Detroit Pistons, who are heading to the coming campaign with their core intact. Reggie Jackson has also recovered from his left knee injury, which further strengthens their bid.
Stan Van Gundy recently confirmed that their starting point guard will not have any restrictions and that the playing time he'll receive will all depend on his conditioning. He then added, via Ron Beard of The Detroit News, that having no minutes cap will be for both games and practices.
#Pistons SVG on Reggie Jackson: "The only thing restricting him is his conditioning. He has no restrictions — practice or game."

This is definitely good news for The Motor City faithful as it shows that Jackson is ready to put his left knee troubles all in the past. When healthy, he is one of the better point guards in the league and is capable of producing solid numbers, just like his career averages of 12.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 27.4 minutes per game.
It remains to be seen if the 27-year-old Boston College product will be back to his old form as the season starts, but it can be expected that he will gradually see his playing time increase as he gets his timing back. After missing a lot of games, it's understandable that he is still working on his conditioning and all the Pistons' trainers will surely help him get there faster.
