Andrew Wiggins has found a home in Golden State. The Warriors swingman no longer has the weight of an entire franchise or the burden of being a number one overall pick on his broad shoulders.
Now he has Stephen Curry and the rest of the Warriors organization treating him like part of the family, something Andrew Wiggins holds near and dear.
According to a report from The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski, Wiggins immensely values the idea of building a family and relationships. That's why he was especially irked at his situation with the Minnesota Timberwolves, particularly under the tenure of former TWolves GM Gersson Rosas, who was unceremoniously fired prior to the season over the rancid culture he built within the organization.

One thing that Wiggins has always valued is family. It is everything to him. So when Rosas arrived and started to preach the importance of family to Wiggins, organized a trip to the Bahamas, met with Wiggins’ family, it resonated with him. At a Twins game during Rosas’ first summer on the job, he cradled Wiggins’ daughter in his arms and promised to build a relationship not just with Wiggins the player, but Wiggins the person.”
The very same Timberwolves GM who harped on the importance of family and relationships then proceeded to trade Andrew Wiggins and nearly every player on the roster he previously promised to build ties with. Safe to say Wiggins wasn't shedding any tears when he heard the news of Rosas.
“That man held my daughter,” Wiggins said with disdain to anyone who asked him about both his trade and his reaction to the firing of Rosas.
Andrew Wiggins himself hasn't been spared from trade talks in Golden State. But by most accounts, Bob Myers, Joe Lacob and the rest of the Warriors organization run a tight ship that's very player-centric. Wiggins may not be the face of the franchise in the Bay Area, but he can rest easy knowing the culture and relationships he's building are sure to stand firm.
