It has become more apparent that the Golden State Warriors are now looking more to the future, with this season looking more and more of a foregone conclusion as the losses quickly pile up. It is now being reported that team president for basketball operations Bob Myers has been busy scouting the top prospects for the 2020 NBA Draft.

As reported by Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Myers and company are not only limiting their search within U.S. soil, and in fact, they have already scheduled a trip to Australia to scout a couple of top prospects in the NBL.

Recently, Bob Myers and a few other Warriors front office decision-makers went up to Oregon to see Memphis center James Wiseman in person. In the coming weeks, I’ve been told Myers is planning to make a trip over to Australia, where he’ll be able to scout LaMelo Ball and R.J. Hampton in person.

Aside from the controversial figure that is James Wiseman, it appears that the Warriors also have their eyes set on two other highly-touted prospects who are currently plying their trade in Australia's local league.

R.J. Hampton is indeed a noteworthy figure, but there is no doubt that LaMelo Ball is more of a headline-grabbing name at the moment. Both youngsters opted to take their talents to the Land Down Under as opposed to doing their one-and-done year in the NCAA. LaMelo, the younger brother of New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball, has been killing it in the NBL of late, and he has certainly propelled himself into the running as 2020's top overall pick.

At this point, it appears that the Warriors are no longer putting much of an effort to hide their plans to tank this season, and thereby giving themselves a shot at one of these top prospects.
