San Francisco, CA – The 2022 NBA playoffs are underway, and the Golden State Warriors got off to an incredible start by taking a 1-0 lead over the Denver Nuggets. The final score was 123-107, and Draymond Green was one of the many standouts for the Warriors. The defensive guru played a prominent role in slowing down the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic.
The Denver star finished with 25 points on 25 shots. Green and Kevon Looney’s efforts on defense frustrated the big man. Then after the game, Jokic told the media how tough the two made it on him. When the Golden State forward heard about the comments, he immediately thought it was a trick.
Draymond on Jokic’s compliments on his defense in Game 1:
“I think most people will be like, Oh man, that's great. I feel like he's going to try to come out and give me 40, 15, and 15 next game. So how I feel is he's pissed off, and he's coming back with a vengeance tomorrow.”

“I think most people will be like, Oh man, that's great,” Green told ClutchPoints. “I feel like he's going to try to come out and give me 40, 15, and 15 next game. So how I feel is he's pissed off, and he's coming back with a vengeance tomorrow.”

The NBA playoffs are a game of adjustments. Usually, the team that makes the better adjustments wins the game. Tomorrow night, Denver is going to play harder and do a better job of helping Jokic impose his will on the Warriors. The Warriors are aware of that, and his compliments aren't going to make them feel like they accomplished anything.

It was just Game 1, and it's a long series. The first game ended in a blowout, but Game 2 is likely going to be very challenging for the Warriors. These are two good teams competing for the same thing, an NBA title.
