It's been three years since Kevin Durant decided to join the then 73-win Golden State Warriors squad. And along with snagging two championship rings, Durant has been a host to a ton of name calling. And frankly, while some continue to give him a ribbing, the former MVP doesn't care anymore. In fact, he believes he has all the advantage.

Durant has accepted his celebrity status. He doesn't mind if someone comes up to him on or off the court to talk about ball. He's pretty much aware that people have been calling him all sorts of names and insults since he opted to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder for Golden State.

But at this point, Durant doesn't care. He realizes the impact of his choice. For all its worth, all eyes and ears are on him. And whenever he speaks, everyone will listen. And because of this, Durant believes he has the power.

“Now I’m just like, I don’t really care what people think about me, the names people call me, Durant told Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports. I know every time I say something, people are going to get upset at me. So I feel like I have all the power now. I can make so many people upset by just speaking my mind and speaking my truths, being transparent with everyone.

Durant knows that whatever he says, it'll affect people one way or another. People will try to slip in their opinion of him. Yet at the end of the day, Durant knows the truth. He knows what's more important.

“It’ll get all these random people coming on national TV to project their feelings onto me. It’s pretty funny actually. I know what’s important. In between those lines, people aren’t going to step in between them. Really, how are the words of those people more valid than mine?
