Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson reportedly hurt his leg with the severity still pending.

The NBA landscape will undoubtedly change due to Thompson's injury and the Warriors' subsequent moves. In the meantime, Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James, the league's reigning Finals MVP, offered his sincere prayers to a speedy recovery to the Dubs three-time champ.

Thompson tore his ACL during the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors in the Warriors' losing effort. James and Thompson had memorable matchups alongside Golden State and the Cleveland Cavaliers in four consecutive title-series battles in 2015-18.

While ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting it is not the same leg injured as the ACL tear (his left), The Athletic's Shams Charania says that Thompson could not put any weight on his right leg.

A five-time All-Star, Klay Thompson missed the entire 2019-20 NBA season as the Warriors did not make the postseason. An injury to Stephen Curry further limited the potential of Golden State this past season, sidelining the two-time MVP for quite a bit of time during the campaign. The Warriors traded D'Angelo Russell, in principal, for Minnesota Timberwolves swingman Andrew Wiggins.

With Thompson injured, it looks like Wiggins could become a huge part of the Warriors' core alongside Curry and former Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green. The Warriors also possess rising sophomore power forward Eric Paschall, who impressed in his rookie season.

LeBron James and the Lakers did not face the Warriors at their full strength in 2019-20, and many NBA fans and observers were hoping for the rematch between The King and the Dubs in 2020-21 with Curry and Thompson fully healthy. Those hopes appear to be dashed for the moment with Thompson's health hanging in the balance.
