Former NBA forward Matt Barnes thinks it's safe to say that Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant is the best player in the NBA right now.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is universally recognized as the best basketball player in the world. Barnes won't go as far as to say Durant is better then LeBron overall, but the former Warriors swingman thinks age is catching up to The King and that KD is the best player in the game as of today.

“But what I see from KD now is he's just happy,” Barnes told Colin Cowherd on The Herd. “He's having fun. He's probably one of the most efficient players to ever play the game. Think it's safe to say he's the best player in the game right now.”

Kevin Durant is a better scorer than LeBron James. LeBron is a better passer and rebounder than KD. Over the past couple of seasons, Durant has played better defense than James too.

Durant is averaging 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game this season for the Warriors. The two-time Finals MVP is shooting 51.6 percent from the field, 36.7 percent from beyond the arc and 89.3 percent from the free-throw line.

KD and the Dubs are likely going to win their third-straight title this season, which would give Durant the same number of rings as LeBron.
