Klay Thompson turned 31 years old on Monday, prompting fans of the Golden State Warriors to send their well-wishes for the veteran guard. Besides the fans though, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and the whole organization shared a heartfelt message for Thompson.
"Klay is someone on the team you can't replace."

For the second consecutive season, Thompson has been unfortunately sidelined with a season-ending injury after tearing his Achilles during the offseason. When Thompson was discovered to have a season-ending ailment, the entire Warriors team and fanbase were in shock.
The loss of Klay Thompson has definitely been felt this season more than ever, with Stephen Curry having to shoulder the majority of the offensive workload. While Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr. have improved their chemistry with Steph, there's no doubt Thompson would make a major difference on the team.

Throughout his career, Thompson has been well-known for his ability to score the basketball with his smooth stroke from outside the arc. But the one area of his game that has often gone overlooked is his ability to guard the opposing team's best player when he needs to.
The duo of Curry and Thompson cemented themselves as the greatest shooting duo in NBA history. At their peak, the Warriors were nearly unstoppable when Curry and Thompson were lighting it up from 3-point range.
With Thompson turning 31 years old, it's unfortunate that he'll miss two seasons in the prime of his career while the Warriors are vying for a playoff spot this 2020-21 season. Even though Thompson won't be on the floor until next season, Golden State realizes just how vital Thompson's contributions have been to their franchise.
