Curry broke his hand on Oct. 30 against the Phoenix Suns and underwent his first surgery on Nov. 1. After his initial surgery, the Warriors’ sharpshooter told reporters that he expects to be back at some point this season regardless of the team’s standing.
That statement from Curry is why he is so beloved by the Warriors’ fan base.
Before he injured his hand after Suns big man Aron Baynes fell on him, Curry was putting up 20.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. He was shooting 40.9 percent from the field, 24.3 percent from beyond the arc and a perfect 100 percent from the free throw line in four contests.
It’s so strange to see the Warriors having the worst record in the NBA right now. This is a team which went to five straight Finals. It just shows that injuries can really take a whole franchise down from within.
The rest of this season will be used to see how the Warriors can incorporate Andrew Wiggins into their offensive system. One advantage of having Curry play this season is to see how he and Wiggins work together on the court moving forward.
