Stephen Curry connected from nearly every spot on the court, breaking Ray Allen's previous record of eight 3-pointers in an NBA Finals game with nine of his own in a Game 2 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

His most memorable was an unreal fadeaway three against Kevin Love, a back-breaking shot that made Oracle Arena explode and showed a deflated Cavs team gasping after the lead had been extended to 14 midway through the final period.

“I was trying to get some space,” Curry said, describing the play to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “I thought I had a layup at first, and I fumbled the ball and tried to see where the defense was. And Kevin Love was right on me. I actually lost the dribble for a hot second, and the only way to get a shot was to keep going back. I try all sorts of shots at some point or another, but at that point, it’s just feel and letting it go, and thankfully it went in.”

Curry followed that one with another one from the corner, also defended by Love — resulting in a four-point play, as he mauled Curry during his shooting motion.

“A big moment where we had a significant lead, we could extend it a little bit and create some separation down the stretch,” said Curry. “It was a cool moment for sure.”

As Cleveland emptied its bench, the two-time MVP wouldn't waste much time making quick work of rookie Cedi Osman, burying another 28-footer to pass Allen in the record books with his ninth trey of the game.
