Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry recently admitted that he was reduced to tears when he learned that teammate Klay Thompson was set to miss yet another season due to injury. Nevertheless, the former back-to-back MVP winner remains confident in his team's chances this coming season — and he is calling out anyone who's counting them out at this point.

Curry acknowledged that losing Thompson is a huge blow for the Warriors, but also expressed his belief in how the Dubs will remain competitive this coming campaign in spite of the setback:

“It’s going to hard at first, for sure. We’ve been waiting seven months to get back out there,” Curry said, via Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “Not seeing [Thompson] on the court, at first, is going to be weird. But I think we’ve done a really good job in the offseason with [James Wiseman] and our draft picks and in the free agency pool to put together a really solid roster. We’re going to have to learn a lot really quickly, and we will need a full commitment from everybody.”

One of Golden State's biggest moves thus far is the addition of Kelly Oubre Jr. from the Oklahoma City Thunder. It appears that the Warriors still have a few more moves in the works, as they look to solidify their squad for the upcoming season.

For his part, Curry remains confident in his team's ability to challenge for the title next term. In his mind, the Warriors can still succeed despite the fact that they will be without one of their best players:

“We know we can compete with anyone in the league,” he said. “It’s kind of crazy. We know how great Klay is. Don’t get me wrong. But we hear the chatter. ‘It’s the end of for us. This year is a wash. What are we going to do in the future?’ But we are in the moment right now. It’s kind of refreshing being in that category as guys that are chasing. We know [the Los Angeles Lakers] are the defending champs. We got to beat them. We’re ready for it.”

This is exactly the type of no nonsense attitude Dub Nation wants to hear right now, and it is an undeniably stirring rallying cry from none other than the Warriors' talisman.
