If you ask Stephen A. Smith, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry should be in the GOAT conversation with Michael Jordan … offensively that is.
In his latest appearance on ESPN's first take, Smith acknowledged that Curry “doesn't compare” to Jordan in terms of size, height and defensive prowess. However, he made it a point to emphasize that in terms of offense, the Warriors sharpshooter is on par with His Aireness and could give him a run for his money for the offensive GOAT title (if there actually is one).
According to Stephen A., there are very few players where fans and experts alike can say “Michael Jordan can't do that.” For him, though, Curry belongs in that category since MJ didn't shoot as good as Steph–not even close.

For what it's worth, Stephen A. Smith is not saying Stephen Curry should be in the true GOAT conversation. However, as a scorer, the Warriors superstar can make a case as the greatest offensive talent the NBA has ever seen.
It is also not the first time the veteran ESPN analyst and broadcaster expressed his admiration for Curry's scoring prowess. After Steph's 62-point game against the Portland Trail Blazers last January, Stephen A. called the Warriors guard the greatest offensive weapon in the NBA.
Curry, for his part, won the league's scoring title for 2020-21 after putting up 32.0 points on 48.2 percent shooting from the field–42.1 percent from three. He is also considered the greatest shooter of all time, as he basically changed how the game is played today.
