Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry lauded second-year guard Jordan Poole for taking his demotion in stride and coming back improved.

Poole was sent to the team's G League affiliate at the end of January. The 2019 first-round pick seemed to find his game with the Santa Cruz Warriors, and was eventually recalled on March 1. Poole made quite the impact in his first game back with the Dubs, scoring 26 points in a March 4 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Curry said it was evident Poole had made the necessary adjustments during his time in the G League:

“He's gotten better, I think he really took advantage of the time down in Orlando, his confidence is always there but got reps where he can build that confidence into actual production,” Curry said Wednesday, via Alex Didion of NBC Sports Bay Area. “I think that confidence showed in Phoenix, I saw the whole game, I think he played decisively, took the shots he felt like he could make, played aggressively and just kept it about his business on the court.

“It's a testament to a young guy going through all different type of scenarios and experiences but staying ready and still feeling like you can get better and taking advantage of every opportunity.”

Poole could have a bigger role in the Warriors rotation going forward.

Head coach Steve Kerr alluded to some overhaul when the Dubs begin the second half of their season on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Poole struggled to adapt to a starting backcourt role that was essentially thrust in his face following last year's injuries to Curry and Klay Thompson. But the former Michigan star's ability to provide valuable backcourt minutes at either guard spot does indeed give the Warriors more rotation options.

Curry likely hopes Poole continues to be assertive and takes on a bit of the scoring load off the bench.
