SAN FRANCISCO — The first-round matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets has some deja vu. It's not the first meeting between these two franchises in the first round. The first time was in 2013, and that was Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson’s first trip to the postseason.

Curry remembered that moment, and one of his current Warriors teammates played on that Denver team.

“Yea, the first time was in 2013 against Denver,” Curry told ClutchPoints. “Now the seeds are switched. They were the 3 seed. We were the 6th seed back then. Me, Klay, and Draymond, we're totally different players, on the shoulders of a lot of experience, and championships. Andre (Iguodala) is with us now instead of the opposition. A lot has happened since 2013. We've grown a lot.”

Golden State’s championship experience is an obvious advantage over Denver. But both teams have changed over the years, and Curry thinks the Warriors' experience and memory of their first playoff appearance can help them in this series.

“You're a little bit more composed in terms of not getting too antsy before the series starts,” Curry explained. “You're going to have a lot more confidence and understanding of how things flow throughout a series and how each game is totally different. … I just like the way we can kind of stand on that experience coming into a series and kind of take it from there.”

The Warriors are confident going into this matchup, but they believe this Nuggets team will be difficult to take down. Home-court advantage will be very beneficial, but as long as Curry plays, the Warriors like their chances. As of right now, it certainly looks as if Curry will give it a go, albeit likely on a minutes restriction.
