Before joining the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant spent three seasons with the Golden State Warriors under head coach Steve Kerr. With that said, Kerr knows very well the threat they are facing against one of the best scorers in the NBA.

Prior to playing the Nets on Tuesday, Kerr discussed what makes Durant really “special” and difficult to guard. Simply put, his ability to score makes him stand out among his fellow NBA superstars.

“There is no tough shot for Kevin. Honestly, that’s what make Kevin special even amongst his peers. … He gets to shoot whatever shot he wants, and it’s basically up to him whether it goes in or not,” the Warriors coach said of KD, per Rusty Simmons of The San Francisco Chronicle.

Steve Kerr has seen firsthand and has actually benefited from Kevin Durant's elite scoring. KD was undoubtedly crucial in the Warriors' championships in 2017 and 2018, as he wouldn't be named NBA Finals MVP in both years if he's not impactful enough.

Unfortunately for the Dubs, their partnership with Durant was rather short-lived after the one-time MVP decided to leave Bay Area in 2019 and join forces with Kyrie Irving and James Harden in Brooklyn.

Durant has been on a tear with the Nets this 2021-22, looking more like his old self after a rather up-and-down 2020-21 season. And Kerr understands how deadly KD could be in such form.
