Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr admitted that they have a huge hole to cover in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Western Conference semifinal series against the Houston Rockets. Kerr pointed out that Warriors superstar Kevin Durant has been the best player in the postseason, and losing him to injury will force them to make drastic changes. Durant will likely be out of the rest of the series against the Warriors after limping out of the floor in the third period of Game 5.

According to ESPN, Durant sustained a mild right calf strain after going for a jumper in the 2:11 mark of Game 5. The result of the MRI gave the Warriors some sort of a relief as it was initially feared that the two-time NBA Finals MVP sustained a torn Achilles tendon, which could have ended his season.

Warriors superstar Steph Curry said that the Warriors need to play like the way they did four years ago before acquiring Durant. He is confident that they still have enough talent to close out the series against the Rockets.

When Durant went down in Game 5, Curry and fellow superstar Klay Thompson took over. Curry and Thompson eventually finished with 25 and 27 points, respectively, knocking down big shots for the Warriors down the stretch. Draymond Green fouled out late in the game, but also made key plays down the stretch for Golden State.
