Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has been to three all-star teams (2016-2018), made a third-team All-NBA (2017) and a second-team (2016) and is a three-time NBA champion. He knows what it feels like to get those accolades for the first time and when he found out that his Warriors teammate, Andrew Wiggins, was being named an All-Star for the first time in his career, Green had to come and show him some love.

Not only is Wiggins being named to the All-Star team for the first time, but he is also being named a starter. To be fair to the rest of the NBA, that is a pick based on defense and not off of the stats. Wiggins isn't averaging a career-high in any category except three-point percentage and has seen his numbers dip in a few categories–including steals. What Wiggins has done, however, is anchor a Warriors defense that has been one of the best in the NBA at times. Especially with Green missing time this year due to injuries, Wiggins has been needed hugely and has certainly stepped up. Still, it is fair to wonder if Wiggins truly deserves this spot.

With Green set to miss even more time due to injury, he announced that he is going to be transitioning into the TNT booth even as the season is still going on. The multi-year deal has Draymond set to make appearances on “Inside the NBA” alongside Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson, and Kenny Smith. Get your popcorn ready.
