Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob, unsurprisingly, says he wants Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to be with the franchise “forever.”
Curry signed a supermax extension with the Warriors in 2017 and is under contract until 2022. Thompson, meanwhile, becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer, but it is widely believed Golden State will offer him the max contract he wants once free agency starts on July 1.

Curry and Thompson carried the Warriors in Game 6 against the Houston Rockets on Friday in the absence of Kevin Durant. Curry scored 33 points, all in the second half, while Thompson put up 27. It was another signature performance for the Splash Brothers, who are looking to win their fourth title in five years together.
The Warriors are the only team which can offer Thompson a five-year deal worth $188 million this summer. There's been talk that Thompson could take a meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers or Los Angeles Clippers if the Dubs don't offer him a max deal right away in free agency. His father, Lakers legend Mychal Thompson, seemed to suggest recently that the Clippers could be a potential free-agent destination for his son.
However, it would be a shock to everyone in NBA circles if Thompson isn't back with the Warriors next year, no matter what Durant, a fellow free agent, decides to do.
