ESPN has switched its game for Friday, Jan. 18, as they will now televise the Golden State Warriors taking on the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.

Originally, ESPN was going to show the New Orleans Pelicans versus the Portland Trail Blazers.

ESPN didn't give a reason as to why they switched the games.

Usually when major television networks make a change to their schedule, they are anticipating a certain game drawing more viewers. Everyone wants to see the Warriors play since they are arguably the best team in the NBA. DeMarcus Cousins could also be making his season-debut any day now. Cousins is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered last year while playing with the Pelicans.

Cousins has been participating in full contract practices lately, a sign that he's close to playing. It's highly doubtful ESPN has some inside information about Cousins' injury schedule, but fans are probably going to believe that ESPN switching the games has something to do with Boogie.

The last time the Clippers and Warriors met at Staples Center was when Kevin Durant and Draymond Green got into a heated verbal argument on the bench. Green reportedly called Durant “a bit*h” multiple times after Durant was clapping for the ball.

Golden State has since moved on from that incident and is 25-14 on the season.
