The Golden State Warriors had the worst record in the NBA this season, but the team should be an elite squad again in 2020-21 with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins leading the charge as a foursome.
The Warriors will also have a top pick in the 2020 draft. General manager Bob Myers can either draft a player like Anthony Edwards out of Georgia or trade the pick for a proven player.
Despite Curry, Thompson, Green, and Wiggins making their debut as a foursome in 2020-21, though, the Warriors have some moves to make in free agency if they truly want to be a title contender again. With that said, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors will prioritize the backup point guard position this offseason.
Draymond Green is a point forward who will handle the ball a ton. Andrew Wiggins will initiate plenty of offense. But Andre Iguodala, the calming assist-to-turnover expert, and Shaun Livingston, the perfect longtime Curry backup, are gone. Their passing acumen can’t be fully replaced. However, it's always good to have a high-caliber backup at the point guard spot, especially for a team like the Warriors that is looking to win more rings.
