Wednesday night in Madison Square Garden ended with another blowout loss for the New York Knicks, 127-106. The game, though, ended in a dramatic fashion as a brawl ensued between Knicks guard Elfrid Payton and Memphis Grizzlies' Jae Crowder with under a minute to go. The drama did not end on court as Payton's teammate Marcus Morris called out Crowder after the game. He told reporters of the Grizzlies forward, “He's got a lot of female tendencies on the court, flopping and throwing his head back… he's soft, very woman-like.”

Morris' comments did not go unnoticed on social media, with many calling him “misogynistic” and “sexist,” while some jeered at his team's losing record. But none of the comments stood out more than that of Crowder himself, who replied to the Knicks forward on Twitter.

Crowder referred to the small forward's subpar performance in the game. Morris had only made five out of 17 field goal attempts, ending with a +/- of -19 in under 26 minutes of play. The veteran forward, who is playing in his ninth season, ended with only 17 points and six rebounds. Arguably however, he has been one of the brighter spots in another disappointing Knicks season, averaging 19.3 points.

On the other hand, Grizzlies grabbed the win behind guard Dillon Brooks' 27 points. Crowder also contributed an efficient 18 points despite attempting only 6 field goals. He had an altercation against Elfrid Payton after attempting a corner three in less than a minute of play left.

Morris' controversial comments are merely another thing the Knicks have to worry about, as suspensions are also sure to come. They also currently have the league's second worst record at 13-36, ahead only of the 12-36 Atlanta Hawks. The blowout loss against the Grizzlies further added insult to injury, prompting the crowd to start a “Sell the team!” chant.
