Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra have been partners for years.

In the same year that Riley became president of the Miami Heat, Spoelstra was brought into the organization as a video coordinator. That was 1995.

Since then, Riley coached the Heat a couple of times, racking up win after win with the team, and eventually winning a championship in 2006 with Dwyane Wade.

Riley handed the reigns to Spolestra in 2008, and supported the first-time head coach every step of the way. Spoelstra won back-to-back NBA titles while LeBron James was on the team, and led the team to four consecutive Finals appearances.

As if all that weren't enough to cement Spoelstra among one of the all-time great coaches, the Heat's win on Friday put Spoelstra in a tie with Riley for the most coaching wins in the regular season in franchise history, per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

When Spoelstra came on the scene, there were those who didn't believe in him. The only profession basketball experience he had was a two-year stint in Germany. He never played basketball in the NBA.

But somehow, Spoelstra silenced all the naysayers and won all those games, with his best accomplishment being those four Finals appearances with the big of three of James, Wade and Chris Bosh. But even after all three of those players left the team, he still has gotten the most out of the rosters he's had.

It's only a matter of time until Spoelstra wins one more game, making him the winningest Heat coach of all-time.
