James Harden will uphold his promise of playing until he can't, unrelentingly choosing to keep playing through a sore wrist tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers, making this his 75th consecutive game of the 2016-17 season.

“It will get better but if I keep banging on it and keep falling on it then it's going to keep going back too square one,” Harden said of the wrist, which he had wrapped in ice, according to ESPN's Calvin Watkins.

“I try to limit banging on it and keeping it away from contact, it's kinda hard because it's my left hand. I do a lot with my left hand.”

Harden's struggles from the field in his last game had a lot more to do with going against the Golden State Warriors, the second-best defense in the league — shooting a mere 5-of-20 from the floor while going a perfect 13-of-13 from the free-throw line.

The Beard has shot a combined 19-of-56 (33.9 percent) from the field in three games against the Warriors this season, the lowest combined average against any opponent this season.

His sore wrist hasn't kept the MVP candidate from finding his teammates though, logging double-digit dimes in his last nine games and in 11 of his last 12 outings.

As long as Harden is conscious of the fragile state of his wrist and doesn't over exert himself in the next few games, his wrist will naturally heal within the next few days, making it a thing of the past.

The Houston Rockets have three games in the last four days of the week — the activity will prove a test for James Harden with his often-physical style of play.
