The Indiana Pacers are going to have some interesting decisions to make during the 2022 season because they have certainly not played to expectations.

They have some of the most talent in basketball including a few players who are potential all-star-caliber guys. They just don't seem interested in being with the Pacers anymore and that's something that the front office is going to have to keep in mind. The team that they have put out there has clearly not worked and they're going to have to make some major changes to this organization.

If Indiana is going to want to succeed anywhere to what their fans are hoping for, they're going to have to make some tough decisions coming up. In order for them to get into the proper rebuild that they are clearly going to need to do, they need to avoid some major mistakes. Let's take a look at three areas the Pacers must avoid if they want to be able to get back to being the caliber of a team that many people in the NBA expect him to be.

Pacers Must Avoids 2022

3. Have to blow the team up

The Indiana Pacers have undoubtedly been the most disappointing team in all of basketball the past few seasons. No matter how anybody wants to put it, they just have way too much talent to be performing the way that they are. They have a team that has guys like Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner, Caris LeVert, and some high-level role players. The fact that they are not competing the way that they are expected to is mind-blowing because they certainly have the talent to not only compete, but win an NBA championship.

When the Pacers are on the court it just doesn't seem like many of the guys play with any sort of fire that they really need. It's a bunch of guys who kind of just go out there and play basketball and worry about themselves. If the Pacers are going to want to have any success anytime in the near future, they need to blow this team up and move on with most of these guys.

This isn't a bad thing for the Pacers because as we have seen they are not going to get anything done with the current roster. What they are lucky about is that they have many players who can get back a favorable return and help them start this rebuild. They could also decide to trade a few guys for some major pieces and also potentially make a run in the second half of the season. They certainly have enough guys on their roster who are very good players and could potentially help them win an NBA title. Their current roster clearly isn't working together but that doesn't mean that there aren't other players out there who are of similar skill sets to the guys that they have who can come in and be better for them.

2. Bring in guys who want to be part of the rebuild

It seems at this point that the Pacers are going to go into a rebuilding mode. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but it is a thing that no fan ever wants to hear because they always want their team to be one of the best in the NBA and compete at a high level.

Indiana needs to realize that they are going to need to bring guys who don't mind losing some games for the next few seasons to try to make everything work and win a championship eventually. Their current team just doesn't seem interested in being part of a rebuild or even trying to figure things out. Indiana is going to need to make sure that they can bring in some young guys who can help speed up this rebuild process and also make sure that they can get as many draft picks as possible.

1. Get as many draft picks as possible

The biggest thing that Indiana has to do this offseason to avoid any major mistakes for the future is making sure that they get back the correct return for their players. When trading a guy like Domantas Sabonis or Myles Turner, Indiana needs to make sure that they can get back some draft picks along with the players that they are going to receive because it will help speed up their rebuild process.

The draft picks are going to be the biggest thing for Indiana.
