While there's been much talk of the Miami Heat looking for another All-Star to pair with Jimmy Butler, it apparently seems that it won't be rumored Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo. Oladipo had been said to have a certain level of desire to make his way to South Beach, but that same interest wasn't mutual from Miami's side.

Per, ESPN's Zach Lowe, Miami is possibly backing away from the overall notion of pursuing Oladipo, with the Pacers likely to be resolved to offering the two-time All-Star a contract extension at some point this upcoming season, if not this offseason.

“It would not surprise me if Oladipo and the Pacers come back to the table on extension talks,” stated Lowe, via Heat Nation. “(Oladipo can sign an extension at any point during the season.) Indiana can offer him a four-year deal starting at $25 million per season. I'm not sure the Pacers would approach that number, but considering Oladipo's recent play — and that some potential suitors, including the Miami Heat, have likely backed away — he would be wise to consider securing something.”

Most teams, as also noted by Lowe are apparently backing off a deal with Oladipo unless they can see an additional stint next season in which he performs to a caliber worth letting go of some valuable assets.

The Maryland native is coming back from a ruptured quad tendon that he suffered in Jan. 2019. It kept him sidelined until the latter part of the 2019-20 season. Upon his return, his performances didn't leave opposing teams in awe, which likely aids to the hesitancy to trade for him at this point.

The Pacers will likely have to build more value in Oladipo next season if they truly plan to move on from him.
