Though he has been ruled out for the remainder of this season due to a knee injury, Indiana Pacers shooting guard Victor Oladipo is maintaining an optimistic point of view.
Oladipo's injury occurred in a game against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 23. As he ran down the floor in transition defense, his leg buckled and he immediately went down in pain. MRI scans taken later revealed a ruptured quad tendon in his right leg. The former No. 2 overall pick underwent season-ending surgery on Jan. 28.
Some players are discouraged when faced with such a lengthy rehabilitation process, but Oladipo says he's going to take it one day at a time:
“I'm just taking it one day at a time,” Oladipo told Pacers.com. “At the end of the day, I'm a positive butterfly. I'm not looking too far into the future and I'm not looking at the past; just focused on today and trying to get better every day.”
According to an official report from the Pacers, Oladipo is walking on crutches now and engaging in light exercises to repair his right leg. As of right now, there is no timetable set for when he might be able to return to full-scale workouts:

It's kind of like relearning my body. I'll know what I need to do and what not to do and not to overdo it and stuff like that. It's a learning curve for me.”
In closing, Oladipo noted that he would like to rejoin the team in order to cheer them on before the season ends:
“Definitely. I plan on coming back and coming to some games and supporting when I'm able to,” Oladipo said. “I'm looking forward to that, too. Being back in the arena and seeing the fans and my teammates and my coaching staff and everybody that works for the Pacers as well. I miss them, for sure.”
The Pacers have won five games in a row without their star, putting them at 37-19 on the season.
